May in Faro, Portugal marks the start of the tourist season, as the Algarve region starts to see an influx of visitors. The weather warms up and there is extensive sunshine. The end of May would be the ideal time to visit to experience the warmest weather of the month.

The average temperature throughout May is 18°C (64°F). The high temperature can get up to 22°C (72°F), these highs are most common after May 21st. The low temperature lowers to 13°C (55°F), which is most common from the start of May until the 11th.Praia da Rocha May sees daily rising highs with only one day in ten exceeding 28°C (82°F) or going below 18°C (64°F). Daily lows only fall below 9°C (49°F) or exceed 19°C (66°F) one day in ten.

The average rainfall for May halves that of the previous two months with only 20mm. This is an average of 7 days of total rainfall for the month or about 1 in 5 days.
